The picture indicates that the angels are sheilding the Witnesses from Satan and nothing more. Unforseen occurances such as cars careening into literature carts aren't included but most JW's have a sense that they are safer while at meetings, in service or at assemblies. Many examples have been given over the years of those who were spared from or who were victims of disasters, based on whether or not they were in attendance at a JW meeting or assembly. They say Jehovah's spirit is directing the praching activity and they went as far as to indicate that his spirit sometimes leads JW's to the door of individuals who w contemplating suicide. One could easily assume if he does that, he also prevents accidents such as the one we are discussing.

What you are dealing with here are those certiain "friends" and relatives most of us have, who die a little bit inside each time we have some sort of success. You distance yourself from them yet they pop in from time to time just to remind themselves how much they resent you. They are often looking for you to say something that will justify this resentment.
Give them blank vague non committal answers and hope they get a clue and their contact with you becomes less and less frequent.

I love my furry tail waggin' best friend and he loves me no matter what. He comes to work with me every day and he is a uniting force in our office and on the job sites I visit each day. I know well from past experience the pain you speak of when a pet dies and I really took that into consideration when getting my current dog. In the end, I decided that although giving my heart over to another pet will ultimately result in a big sadness down the road, it is better to have experienced the good years with him and the joy of providing a happy life for him, than to have missed out on all that just because I wanted to sheild myself from experiencing future sadness.
The thing I have to remember about animals is not to project my own feelings onto them. They are not sentimental like we are, they pretty much live in the moment and accept things at face value. They don't reflect on the big picture meaning behind everything they experience and perhaps that's why we enjoy them so much. It wouldn't be much fun to have a pet that worried about the future or whether or not there was an afterlife, held grudges or moped over things in the past or was always looking for ulterior motives. Sounds like your little poodle had a good life with you and you both enjoyed eachother and you have to be thankful for that even though it wasn't for as long as you'd hoped.
Time will be a friend to you in your loss and in time you'll adjust maybe even to the point of maybe wanting to give another animal a good home and a good life.

Window-washer is the cover of Feb 2015 WT, "How to enjoy your work!" Hahaha!!
by EndofMysteries in.
after all the jokes and satire on this website about jw's only being able to amount to window washers and house cleaners, the cover page of "how to enjoy your work" showing a window washer and cleaner in the back ground.
i almost wonder if some awakened, still-in, from this site is part of the writing department or illustrations and put that in there as an inside joke for us?.

When I saw this picture, I wasn't thinking of these people as being secular employees on the job. The first thing that came to mind was that they were volunteer workers at the Assembly Hall, Kingdom Hall or at Bethel. Maybe they are priming everyone to volunteer during a big campaign they might have planned for fixing up Watchtower properties so they can be sold.

What EndofMysteries said and:
Even at your funeral, they set the guidelines for what will be said.
They determine who can get up and speak about you. Certainly not your mother or sister or anyone not baptized or in good standing.
Even though Motown music and country line dancing is OK when it suits them, they'll say photos of you and your life events and elaborate flower arrangements are not appropriate at the Kingdom Hall.
They even set the guidelines on how much emotion should be displayed by your loved ones. Being overly sad is showing lack of faith in the resurrection hope.
Forget about anyone playing your favorite song(s) unless it's a Kingdom Melody.

For decades they said " There is no room for individuality in Jehovah's Organization" and gave biblical examples of what happened to people who tried to do things their own way.

I can overlook a post that has an occasional spelling or puncuation error but it just frosts me when they are accompanied by a tone of selfsatisfication. (wink)
